DRINTUSS is a project that develops an intelligent drone system for emergency situations (like fires, disasters, rescue missions).     The result of the project is a prototype of the innovative system composed of n. 2 drones and a ground station (GCS) with validation of the following innovative elements:

    • Radar Low SwaP-C, of ​​new concept, with a weight of less than 5-6 kg and a reduced size for housing on board the drone;
    • Inovative mode of management and control of swarm formation flight (swarm) for search and rescue operations;
    • Open, flexible and highly modular system architecture, capable of managing different types of missions, in highly uncertain scenarios, with swarms made up of variable numbers and types of drones;

Overview

The DRINTUSS project aims to create an innovative and intelligent tool for the coordination and decision-making support of national bodies operating in emergency situations, such as the Fire Brigade, Civil Protection and Red Cross.'

The system includes a swarm of drones equipped with innovative sensors and advanced autonomous decision-making capacity which allows rapid planning and execution, autonomously or supervised by a ground station, of emergency missions characterized by high uncertainty and which require maximum speed and effectiveness of execution.
